Tree House design and construction
Bespoke Tree Houses, Play Houses, Platforms and Climbing Frames
Original timber structures designed and built to order.
For a few hundred pounds you can buy a relatively flimsy and usually character-lacking flat-packed production line play house and put it up yourself over a day or two; cheap 'n easy.
On the other hand you may prefer to pay rather more but get something that is beautiful to look at, great fun to play or rest in, has plenty of features and fits into any space. Furthermore, it can be made from locally-sourced hardwood (eg. Oak, Chestnut) or resistant softwood such as Larch or Douglas Fir or even reclaimed materials.
Secret hatches, scrambling nets, slides, fireman's pole, skylights, climbing wall, mezzanine levels, crow's nest, flag pole, crenalations, bunks, portholes, stained glass, wonky railings, spiral steps, wildflower or turf roofs and so on. I can try to build what you imagine (within the laws of Physics!)
2011 Green-roofed play house
A tree house for my own two little boys, with a secret entrance, fireman's pole, pulley, stable door and wildflowers sown on top. All designed to fit into a space about 2.4x2m
Round wood climbing frame
Although this Blaise Castle frame is not my work, I have produced similar and I think more interesting work in Oxfordshire with Phil Muil of Wild Wood (www.wildwood.ukwebz.com). The pictures are not digitised.
A hobbit hole through to a hidden trampoline
An ingeneous design I saw at Malvern Flower Show in 2009
