Garden Design in Bristol
In my experience customers prefer to spend their budget on the garden itself and not on an expensive design. If it's a full colour detailed set of working drawings that you want then I'll be happy to provide these, but a set of pencil sketches with approximate costings is what I usually provide.
The garden design process begins with a survey of what you have in the garden (space, slope, soil and drainage, permanent structures, views, plants, services etc) and consideration of your needs, likes and dislikes, budget, opportunities and limitations. Then we can begin to play with ideas for your space and prepare simple design sketches.
In developing your design I may bring books and magazines, draw overlays on a photo of your garden, paste collages, use ideas 'mood' boards and in situ mock ups of designs. We might have a nosey at gardens in your neighbourhood and I also offer accompanied visits to gardens and suppliers. Once we are agreed on the detail of the final design will I provide, if necessary, working drawings and planting plans along with an estimate or quote.
